EIS representatives

EIS representatives are fundamental to the operation of this union and play a vital role for the members that it serves.
All EIS representatives are volunteers and carry out a number of duties on behalf of the Educational Institute of Scotland and for their colleagues and fellow members.
These duties include:
-
Informing members - keeping fellow members up to date with the latest union news from the local, regional and national levels.
-
Supporting and advising your fellow members as and when needed
-
Recruiting new members – this is the largest teachers union in Scotland, our strength lies in our numbers.
-
Membership retention and information – keeping our records up to date with contact information and member info enables us to communicate more efficiently with our membership.
If you are interested in becoming an EIS representative please contact your Local Association Secretary. LA contacts are here.
