Children with attachment issues can cause significant disruption in the classroom and often do not respond to behaviour management techniques based on sanctions and rewards.
Their ability to learn is inhibited and they can have a negative impact on those around them.
The children most likely to have attachment issues are adopted and looked after children as well as those who have suffered adverse experiences such as parental separation/illness or being a refugee.
Adoption UK in Scotland can provide customised training on attachment.
