EIS Learning Representative Course - Higher Education
The EIS has been recruiting members for a number of years to train as Learning Representatives and now has over 100 Learning Reps working in schools and colleges throughout Scotland.
The main role of Learning Reps is to give information, advice and support to colleagues who are undertaking, or wish to undertake, CPD.
We are now offering this training to members in the Higher Education Sector.
The new LR course will be starting in February 2012. The course comprises an introductory element which is provided on-line by Stow College and lasts for six weeks.
The course requires 2/3 hours per week and there are 6 activities within it. The purpose of this introductory element is to give members a good grounding on the role of EIS Learning Reps, EIS CPD agenda etc.
Anyone undertaking this introductory element will have to successfully complete it before being able to go on to undertake the main part of the course.
The main part of the course is provided by the University of the West of Scotland and this is the part which will allow members to become an accredited EIS Learning Rep.
