Learning Reps - Protocol & Numbers

EIS Learning Representatives Protocol

The EIS LR protocol sets out the role, how LRs are  trained and developed, time off and expenses for LRs.

The protocol is currently being updated. 

Number of Learning Representatives

Learning Reps work either covering all schools within their local authority area or work within their own FE college or HE institution, possible across campuses.

The objective is that there should be 50 LRs working within the framework of the EIS Local Association.

Local Associations approve members to undertake training to become Learning Reps, and can decide if additional LRs are required. The numbers, broadly pro rata in terms of membership levels within local associations, are as follows:
