A second New JNCHES dispute meeting, as four unions (EIS, UCU, Unison & Unite) have lodged a dispute with the employers regarding a failure to agree a 2012/13 pay deal, was  held in London on 27 July, 2012.  The EIS was represented by Dr Nick McKerrell (EIS-ULA President) and David Belsey (National Officer, F&HE).

The EIS and other unions set out their expectations for acceptable 2012/13 pay offer. The EIS stated that it would not recommend any sub-inflationary pay deal to its members as it would lead to a fourth successive pay cut in real terms.

The Employers did not submit a new or improved offer. The Employers agreed to look again at their 2012 Pay Offer and see if any improvement was possible. The Employers promised to get back to the Unions by mid- August. The meeting therefore closed with the possibility of another meeting in August if the Employers return with a different or improved offer.
