The 171st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the EIS will be held at Perth Concert Hall on the 8th, 9th and 10th of June.
Around 350 delegates (mainly teachers and lecturers from across Scotland) will attend the AGM, to debate key educational issues and to discuss EIS policy priorities for the year ahead.
There are 88 Motions to be debated this year, covering a wide range of issues across workload, research and external education bodies. The AGM also features keynote addresses by EIS President Margaret Smith and General Secretary Larry Flanagan.
A busy programme of fringe events this year includes, EIS Fringe Meeting Organising Strategy – Campaign Towards a More Effective Trade Union, EIS Fringe Meeting Meet the General Secretary and Equality Fringe Event The Equality Impact of the Trump Administration in the USA.
