The Institute has decided to utilise its Strike Hardship Fund to provide financial support to all members who are employed to work on Wednesday 15 May and/or Thursday 16 May and who take strike action.
The Universal Hardship Payment will be paid to members at a rate of £50 for each working day on which strike action is taken. Members who are contracted to work on both Wednesday 15 May and Thursday 16 May will be entitled to claim a £100 Universal Hardship Payment, whereas members contracted to work on one of the two days will be entitled to claim £50.

THIS FORM IS FOR LECTURERS ON PERMANENT OR FIXED TERM CONTRACTS (PART TIME OR FULL TIME) Submission of this Form MUST be accompanied by a copy or scan of your pay-slip which shows the deduction in respect of strike action taken in May 2019.
THIS FORM IS FOR LECTURERS ON HOURLY CONTRACTS (CASUAL OR VARIABLE HOURS) Submission of this Form MUST be accompanied by documentation showing that you were expected to be working on the strike day or days claimed AND be countersigned by a Branch Official.
Payments will be made by BACS directly into bank accounts using the details held on membership records. Payments will be made as soon as possible following receipt of the form and relevant supporting documents.
