Dear <insert name>,
Thank you for your hard work, resilience, dedication, courage, and above all your professionalism in supporting education provision for Scotland’s children and students over these past testing and trying nine months.
I hope that the Christmas period provides some respite for you and an opportunity to connect with family and friends, notwithstanding the guidance still in place.
Although we have the challenges of winter still to face, the roll-out of the vaccine is positive news.
Let’s hope that 2021 is a “guid New Year” in every way possible.
As a union, we will continue, collectively, to do all we can on behalf of members.
In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy your break.

Members will be aware that a number of Local Associations have declared disputes with individual Councils around Health and Safety issues and others are considering doing so in January. In all cases, the EIS is seeking or is actively engaged in local negotiations to improve health and safety practice across a range of areas, citing as evidence the extensive evidence provided by members in the survey. It is hoped that these discussions will be productive and see improvements being enacted post-Christmas.
