Major Education Hustings to be Live-Streamed Tonight from 7pm

The EIS’s magazine, the SEJ, and the GTCS’s magazine, Teaching Scotland, have joined forces to host an important Education Hustings tonight in Edinburgh.

The Hustings, to be held from 7pm - 9pm at the Surgeons’ Hall in Edinburgh, will feature speakers from Scotland's five largest political parties and will be streamed live on both the EIS and  GTCS websites.

The event will be co-chaired by Larry Flanagan (EIS General Secretary) and Ken Muir (GTCS Chief Executive & Registrar) and will feature political representatives Angela Constance (SNP), Emma Farthing-Sykes (Scottish Lib-Dems), Peter McColl (Scottish Greens), Iain Gray (Scottish Labour) and Elizabeth Smith (Scottish Conservatives).

The Hustings will provide an opportunity for teachers and lecturers to discuss the challenges dominating education and how best to tackle these issues. Questions will be fielded from audience members in the hall, as well as from those viewing online.
