Introduction and Welcome

As the Convener of the Headteachers’ and Depute Headteachers’ Network (HT & DHT Network) I would like to welcome and introduce the Network to you.

The HT & DHT Network was established by the EIS, as Scotland’s biggest teacher trade union, with the largest number of senior management members, in the 1990s to allow senior managers from all over Scotland to share experiences, discuss common difficulties and to promote the work of HTs & DHTs in the wider education community.

The Network meets between 3-4 times per year in Moray Place (Edinburgh) and advises the Education Committee on HT & DHT matters which then shapes national policy.

Additionally a national conference is organised every few years which provides excellent networking opportunities and addresses current issues relevant to senior management colleagues among the EIS membership.

Within these pages you will be able to find details of the HT & DHT Network member in your area, how to join the Network, previous conference information and much more.

If you have an item that you would like raised at a Network meeting please request that your local HT & DHT Network member bring this forward.

A list of current Network members along with their email address is available here.

If you have any queries regarding the Network please contact Leigh Meechan at EIS HQ.
