The 169th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the EIS will be held this week at Perth Concert Hall.
The AGM opens on Thursday 4 June and runs until Saturday 6 June. Around 350 delegates (mainly teachers and lecturers from across Scotland) will attend the AGM, to debate key educational issues and to discuss EIS policy priorities for the year ahead.
There are 70 Motions to be debated this year, covering a wide range of issues across workload, research and external education bodies. The AGM also features keynote addresses by both EIS President Tommy Castles (Thurs, 1415hrs) and General Secretary Larry Flanagan (Friday, 1200hrs).
A busy programme of fringe events this year includes a briefing for new AGM delegates (Thursday 1300hrs), 'Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Glasgow Girls Campaign (Friday 1245hrs), and a Pensions Panel (Friday 1245hrs).
