A professional PACT against the impact of poverty in Scottish education.

A Fringe meeting organised by the EIS Equality Department took place on Friday of the AGM, and was chaired by outgoing EIS President and current Equality Committee Convener, Nicola Fisher.

Professor John McKendrick, (Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit) delivered a presentation, and delegates were shown a video clip from Jen Gracie, (Policy and Parliamentary Officer with Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland) on the current outlook on poverty in Scottish society.

Delegates then heard from from Sandra Scott and Kait Laughlin (EIS PACT Project Co-Leaders), on the new phase of the EIS anti-poverty work around professional learning, and were then given an opportunity to share their views and pose questions to the panel of presenters.
