This post is based in the EIS HQ in central Edinburgh. However, the Institute has a Flexible Working Patterns policy, offering all members of staff a high degree of flexibility over the location at which work is carried out, subject to the overall requirements of the Institute and its members.
The fixed term post is to provide cover for an existing post holder whilst they are on internal secondment. It is envisaged that the period of employment will commence as soon as possible (subject to the successful candidate’s availability) and end on 28 February 2025.
The job description involves the organisation and arrangement of major national professional learning events and the promotion of these to EIS members. The post holder will also be responsible for the recruitment, retention and the provision of support to accredited EIS Learning Representatives across Scotland and will attend and provide administrative services to the Institute’s CPD Sub-Committee.
Applications from candidates with a background in education are particularly welcome, as are those from candidates with previous or current involvement in a trade union.
The EIS will accept applications for this post which are based on secondment from an existing employer or from internal candidates wishing to undertake the role on a temporary basis.
