EIS Learning Reps have been instrumental in raising awareness of recent important professional learning developments, and in supporting teachers and lecturers through these developments.
With the introduction of Professional Update it has never been more important to have a highly trained network of Learning Reps giving practical assistance to colleagues on all aspects of their Professional Learning, PRD and Professional Update.
The course includes a six week online introductory section through Glasgow City College which clarifies the role of Learning Reps, how they are involved in the EIS agenda and identifying barriers and challenges to undertaking professional learning.
Anyone wishing to undertake the course must be approved either by their Local Association if they work in a school or by their Branch if they are college based.
The second section of the course is at postgraduate level, is also delivered online through the University of West of Scotland, and takes three months to complete.
Do you want to be one of those Learning Reps? For further information on EIS Learning Reps, their role and how to apply for the course please email Lesley Walker lwalker@eis.org.uk or telephone 0131 225 6244.
