LGBT Network

Unfortunately discrimination does happen in workplaces. If you would like to talk to someone about being an LGBT teacher in Scotland please contact LGBT@eis.org.uk where you will be put in touch with a classroom teacher or a college lecturer for information and advice in complete confidence.

The EIS LGBT+ Network is an informal network which meets 2-3 times per year and shares information and updates between meetings. Details about the next meeting of the network will follow shortly.

The Network:

  • Connects EIS members who identify as LGBT+ or as allies for LGBT+ equality
  • Advises the Equality Committee on LGBT+ equality and discrimination issues
  • Provides opportunities for members to attend events, CPD, conferences and seminars
  • Keeps members up to date with equality news and initiatives
  • Gives members the chance to shape EIS policy

If you would like more information on the LGBT Network, or are interested in joining, please contact Natalie Carroll

For copies of the LGBT Guidelines or the 10 reasons to join the EIS leaflet please contact Natalie Carroll in the EIS Equality Department or telephone 0131 225 6244.
