Workload Ballot

Following years of little tangible progress, the EIS is engaging in a consultative ballot of its members for industrial action in pursuit of the SNCT dispute on reducing weekly class contact time to 21 hours.

The EIS is clear that reducing weekly class contact time to 21 hours, and ensuring that the full 1.5 hours to increase weekly preperation and correction time, would mark an essential step forward in addressing unsustainable levels of teacher workload.

This consultative ballot will be open between 6th June and run until 28th August 2025.

All EIS members are urged to vote YES to Action Short of Strike and Strike Action.
