Teachers’ integrity, professionalism and commitment to theyoung people we work with is crucial to teaching today. Building
relationships with compassion, empathy and understanding is central to the GTCS Professional Standards. I believe strongly

Council member and Learning Representative, I promote teacher-led professional learning, equality and diversity and
professional review and development to listen to and effectively support teachers at all stages of their careers.

A teacher for almost twenty years, and an active member of EIS Council, I am passionate about social justice, inclusion and equity. As an EIS Equality Representative, I strive to translate these principles into practice and through the delivery of anti-poverty professional learning, support colleagues to take practical steps to minimise the impact of poverty in their settings. Inclusion and a commitment to equality goes to the heart of our Professional Standards and the delivery of quality education. In seeking election to GTCS Council, I would endeavour to bring these values to the forefront of decisionmaking in our professional body.
