If you are a Health and Safety representative in need of advice, help or support you should
contact your EIS Local Association Secretary. Each Local Association has arrangements to
deal with health and safety issues and, where necessary, may request assistance from the
Area Officer and/or National Officer responsible for health and safety.
Organisations
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the enforcing body for UK Health and Safety legislation
and provides a large volume of information. They also provide free e-newsletters with
important updates to Safety advice as well as information on topics such as workplace
stress, dust and PPE.

Trades Union Congress (TUC) provides H&S advice and updates relevant to union members
on a dedicated section of their website. Like HSE they also provide Safety e-newsletters on a
range of topics as well as training events.
