There has been discussion in some secondary schools about changing the timetable early.
I raised this matter with General Secretary Larry Flanagan this morning, and he agreed that there must be staff consultation prior to this happening. Indeed, members of staff may have different opinions about this, and these views should be aired.
The relevant policy to be implemented in Dumfries and Galloway is the Collegiality in Schools policy, which has gone through the LNCT. You can access the policy here.
An early change of timetable is a local decision, and is not mandated by the authority. It must be agreed collegiately.
