Exercise your democratic right to vote. Vote YES and post your ballot NOW!
At the end of the first full week of the statutory ballot at ENU, we ask all EIS ULA members to vote YES for Strike Action and post their ballot paper as soon as possible.
You can let us know you have voted by clicking the link in your emails if you have not already done so. This helps us to know we are on track to beating the anti-trade union, 50% turnout threshold.
If you have not yet received your ballot paper, please email ballot@eis.org.uk with your name and home address and we will arrange for a duplicate to be issued to you.
It is imperative that all members use their democratic right to vote and have their voices counted. Members will be eligible to receive strike pay, in any strike associated with this local dispute, paid as 50% of members’ take-home pay.
This is our fight, and the EIS will support members to push back against the proposed job cuts and the inevitable loss of academic provision and research that a reduced workforce will lead to at ENU. We are continuing to seek a no compulsory redundancy guarantee from University management.
The EIS has created a Megaphone Petition to stop the cuts – Please sign and share widely with colleagues, family and friends:

It is simply unacceptable that academic staff are expected to receive ‘at risk of redundancy’ letters when ENU management have not fully shared the rationale for the redundancies. A show of strength in this ballot will demonstrate that you are not just a number on a balance sheet, that we are a well-organised and collective workforce willing to take a stand for ourselves, our colleagues and HE provision in central Scotland and beyond. You deserve better from ENU management!
Post your ballot as soon as you can and remember to vote YES for Strike Action. This is the only way to resist senior management's plans to make you or your colleagues redundant.
