COSLA wrote to the Teachers' Side of the SNCT on 2nd of September 2024 to make a revised offer.
This is a one year pay offer covering the 2024/25 SNCT pay year (August 2024 – July 2025) and consists of a 4.27% uplift on all SNCT pay points effective from 1 August 2024.
Following extensive discussion, the Salaries Committee noted that the offer of 4.27% currently sits above inflation (3.6% RPI), that it is undifferentiated across all salary points and that COSLA has stated that it is "the first step towards pay restoration".
Taking these factors into account, the Salaries Committee has decided today to ballot members on this offer with a recommendation to accept.
The ballot is open now and will close on Wednesday 11th September.
