EIS Equality and Leadership Weekend School 2026
The weekend school is the continuation of the EIS’ Our Voices in Union project, is a leadership project that offers professional learning and leadership opportunities to the EIS’s Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic members, disabled members, neurodivergent members, LGBT+ members, and members under the age of 30.
Following on from the success of the first cohort of ‘Our Voices in Union’, where a number of EIS members undertook a two-year equality related leadership course culminating in the delivery of the Still We Rise Conference in January 2025, which explored how educators and trade unionists can rise up and create a fairer and more equal world for all.
The EIS is now delighted to open registration to Our Voices in Union Weekend School 2026, a residential programme which aims to grow the leadership and improve the representation of BAME, LGBT, disabled, neurodivergent and young members within their own workplaces, and within the Union.
