The EIS West Lothian Local Association strives to protect and support the conditions of service for every EIS member in the authority.

Your LA Secretary is Heather Hughes, she is seconded full time to the role. Locally, she is the joint chair of the West Lothian LNCT; an elected representative  on West Lothian's Education Committee and PDSP, as well as being a member of West Lothian's Education and Corporate's Health & Safety committees. She is part of the Early Years Expansion Committee and represents our members with developments in our RIC.

At national level Heather is a member of EIS Council; EIS Employment Relations and the EIS Salaries Committee. She is also a member of the SNCT Teachers' Panel and Support Group. In her work with the EIS, Heather sits on the Appointments Panel and is a trustee of the EIS Superannuation Scheme. She is a member of the working group looking at the upcoming career pathways role of Lead Teacher.
