We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised administrator to provide assistance to the Fife Local Association Secretary in the day to day running of a busy office.
The candidate should have experience carrying out key duties such as including preparation of correspondence, manage meetings, scheduling appointments and other commitments. Dealing with routine telephone enquiries - providing first line response to members.
In addition, the candidate will have a high standard of communication skills and excellent attention to detail as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office.
This is a part time position based in the Fife Local Association Office at Myregormie Place, Kirkcaldy. However, the Institute has a Flexible Working Patterns policy offering all members of staff a high degree of flexibility over the time and location at which work is carried out, subject to the overall requirements of the Local Association and its members.
Benefits include a final salary superannuation scheme and 20 days (rising to 27) annual leave plus 14 days public holidays (pro-rata).

Two vacancies have arisen within our Area Officer team for permanent, full-time positions.
The post of Area Officer within the EIS carries significant responsibility and represents a crucial link between the national campaigning work of the EIS and its local associations and members across the country.
Duties of the post include representation of individual members in high-level grievance and disciplinary matters, local negotiations with employers, recruitment and retention of members, training, and the provision of policy and organisational support and advice to the Institute’s local associations.
Area Officer posts come with the option of the use of a car provided on the basis of the EIS car policy or a car allowance.
Applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with a background in teaching or lecturing are particularly welcome, as are those from candidates with previous or current involvement in a trade union.
It is envisaged that one post will be based in the EIS Area Office in Dundee and the other in the EIS Area Office in Glasgow. The geographical areas for which the successful candidates will be initially responsible will be determined by the General Secretary and the Assistant General Secretary (Employment Relations) in consultation with the successful candidates, taking into account the requirements of the Institute.
