EIS PACT Programme – Anti-Poverty Professional Learning Offer Sessions
The EIS PACT Programme forms part of our continued commitment to addressing poverty and its impact on education through high-quality professional learning. The programme comprises three structured sessions exploring the nature, causes, and consequences of poverty, and examining how these factors influence learners’ experiences and outcomes.
Throughout November and December, we invite both current members engaged with PACT and new participants to join us. If you have previously attended a PACT session, there is no need to register for Module 1.
In addition to the core sessions offered across November and December, a PACT network session online will be held ahead of the Christmas holidays, focusing for all holiday hunger and poverty in the context of Christmas with a guest speaker and an opportunity for reflection and discussion. We'd be delighted if you would join us for this.
Further dates for 2026 will be released soon for a repeat of all modules. If you would like the PACT team to deliver sessions in your school or local association, please get in touch — we are happy to work with you to plan bespoke anti-poverty professional learning session tailored to your context and school setting.

Network Session: Holiday Hunger and Christmas Holiday Poverty
[Open to all]
Monday 1st December | 5pm – 7pm (Online)
Christmas can be a joyful and exciting time, but it can also add to the pressures and worries which families and young people impacted by poverty feel, especially in the context of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. This network session will focus on the impact of poverty over the festive period, including holiday hunger and access to essential provisions. The session will give space for discussion and reflection about how schools and teachers can navigate discussions about Christmas and the holiday period with sensitivity and care, and that school celebrations or activities around this time do not unintentionally widen gaps or contribute to further inequity. The discussion will deepen understanding of why the festive period can be difficult for those living in poverty, and collectively consider what practical, dignified approaches schools can adopt during and after the festive season.
