PACT is a brand new joint EIS-Scottish Government initiative to deliver equity-related professional learning on a national scale.
PACT will design and deliver strongly research-based professional learning opportunities for all teachers and headteachers focused on school policy, practice and pedagogy that is rooted in social justice principles, in the context of a whole-school ethos and culture of support and meaningful empowerment for those children, young people and their families who are struggling to survive poverty.
PACT reflects the shared ambition of the EIS and the Scottish Government to empower teachers and schools to minimise the damage that poverty and socio-economic disadvantage do to the education and life-chances of too many of Scotland’s children.
We need all in the profession to be part of PACT.
