We have obtained agreement in principle from the employer to release members for training, however you must also seek agreement from your Head Teacher / Line Manager. We can provide a template letter for this purpose. Once you have permission, please complete the online form below. Travel and accomodation costs will be covered by the EIS.
The EIS TUC Representatives' Training is a 4-day course ofference in 2 x 2 day blocks during the working week with an introductory e-note and workplace activities between the 2 blocks. It is delivered by the TUC Education Tutors working with EIS Organisers. It is delivered by TUC Education Tutors working with EIS Organisers. It is designed to provide a thorough initial training for school-cased EIS Reps to help them to fultil their role more effectively, raise confidence and provide an opportunity to network with other reps. The course covers the role of the Rep; the responsibilities of an EIS Rep; handling members problems; organising in the school / college; recruitment; using local agreements; involving members and building the union team.
