Workload Dispute – New Statutory Postal Ballot Papers to be Issued
We opened our statutory ballot in pursuit of the workload dispute last week – this dispute aims to make an agreement at the SNCT to reduce weekly class contact by 1.5 hours and to use that time to increase teachers' 'preparation & correction' time. Such an agreement will be contractual and include an implementation timeline.
Due to a typographical error in the ballot paper issued, our Scrutineer needs to post out new ballot papers to all members.
If you have already voted, then you will need to vote again. If you have not voted then please bin your current ballot paper and wait for your new one.
If you haven’t received your new postal ballot paper by Monday 24th November, then please contact ballot@eis.org.uk.
When you receive your new ballot paper – please post as soon as possible.

Misinformation contributes to the risks currently facing progress on LGBT people's rights across the world.

Branch Visits and Branches Without Reps
Would it help for an EIS Organiser, Area Officer or your Local Association Secretary to visit your Branch one lunchtime or after school – or online?
Reach out to your EIS Organiser or LA Secretary to arrange such a visit.
If you are in a school that does not currently have an EIS Rep, then please organise as a branch to elect a Rep or a group of Reps to help take forward the work of the EIS in your school and beyond.
If you are a member who is looking to bring about change in your school then the TUC runs bespoke courses for the EIS which provide activists with the skills to support members and transform workplaces.
The training allows reps to be effective, knowledgeable and confident in their work.
